We had a great day observing plant adaptations around the school.
Here is an excellent video by Study Jams to supplement our discussion about plant adaptations. Take a moment to have your child watch the short video. There is even a quiz to “test yourself.” If your child watches it, please have them leave me a comment about something learned because I give them credit for doing some extra work.

Andrew learned that plants can adapt to almost everything.
Hi mrs. McDonald, I learned that plants in the water have to be flexible to flow in the water!
Hi Mrs. McDonald,
In the plant video i watched today i learned that the seeds spread in different ways and all around the earth, they also can float and be under water plants. And the wind could be taking away the seeds to a different place on the earth to grow a new plant or a tree seed that had spread before.

I learned that plants can travel in many different ways such as floating or blowing in the wind.
I can’t believe it takes 100 years for a plant to adapt to it’s environment. wow!
The lillies have air in the stem to keep them floating on the water
Mrs.Mcdonald I learned a lot about plant adaptations and how plants adapt to there environment.
Learned that Water lily’s contains an air sac in their stem, to make it float, this is very fascinating! Also, learned that coconuts are seeds.
I learned that a coconut is a seed and it floats to get around to a new location.
