Polar Express Party

All aboard the 3rd grade Polar Express! Our party will be from 9:15-10:30 on Thursday, December 17th.  If you are interested in helping run a center on the day of the party, or are willing to donate items, please click on the Polar Express picture below (for the Volunteer Spot link, enter your email, and click next). We would like each child to send in $1.00 to cover the cost of the Christmas party.  We are planning crafts, games, and snacks related to the Polar Express theme and will be combining all of the 3rd grade classes.

Also, we will be having a gift exchange within our own classroom, please help your child select a gift of approximately $3.00-$5.00. Girls will choose a gift for a girl and boys will choose a gift for a boy. The gifts need to be wrapped and labeled to a “Girl” or “Boy.”  Please make sure that your child writes his/her name, so we know whom to thank. The children may start bringing them in as soon as you would like to send them.  Make sure your child’s gift is here by Monday, December 14.

If  you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Light Bulb Needed by Tuesday 12/10/13

We have the perfect “reusing” idea in the classroom. Please send in one light bulb to the classroom during the next week. It does not need to work so check around the house for any that need to be replaced. The energy efficient bulbs will not work for this project. See picture below if you are not sure of what type of bulb to send in.

Our party is on Friday, December 21st from 9:15-10:30. Your child can wear P.J.s on that day. I am very grateful to everyone that offered to send in supplies for the party! I sent a red note home today with the item circled. If you did not receive a note, we are all set at this point.

It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of 2011 before leaving for break. The children entered the multipurpose room by giving their ticket to the conductor after caroling through the halls. Every time the train whistle blew, they chanted, “I believe” before rotating to a new center. The centers consisted of several games (such as: impulse, bingo, snowman draw, marshmallow toss), cookie decorating and hot chocolate, and a craft. We had some excellent volunteers assisting with centers. Thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you. We ended our day with a gift exchange and a movie. We had a fantastic day!
