What a wonderful experience we had today at Baldwin Street Middle school. The 8th graders from Mrs. Ware’s class invited us to vote on their science fair projects. We are anxious to hear who won.

Science Update
Posted onIn science we are discussing the motion (movement from one place to another or physical movement like twirling, waving, etc.). We’ve looked at the path and direction of various objects. In addition, the children had the opportunity to complete time travels of previous measured distances focusing on the speed (distance an object travels in a certain amount of time using words faster and slower).

Book Fair
Posted onOur class will be previewing the book fair on Monday, March 15th. This will give us a chance to make our wish lists.
Those students that choose to purchase will be able to do so on Wednesday, March 17th at 2:50.
Class Basket
Posted onYou have 2 more days to donate to our classroom basket.
Our theme is Sports.
We would appreciate any sports materials to add to our basket as it is looking pretty scarce. Please bring them in by Thursday.
Thanks!
Posted onCanada is in the lead. Let’s get reading 3rd graders. Remember that we are going for GOLD! You will receive 1 flag for every 30 minutes of reading. Remember to enter your reading on the reading log or send in a note.

Olympic Resource
Posted onHere is a great resource for all of your Olympic wonders. It contains wonderful videos, bios, schedules, podcasts and everything else you would like to know about the 2010 Olympics. Our homework for the weekend is to research German athletes. Have Fun!!! We are so excited to be representing Germany!
Reading for Gold update
Posted onReading at home also counts for a flag. When your child reads for 30 minutes, log on to READING LOG and record your information. Find your name under the third grade title, click on it and fill in the information. Each teacher will receive the notification and reward the children with a flag. If you would prefer to send a note to school, that is fine as well.
