Study Island and All The Right Type Homework

Posted on

I did add an assignment to Study Island. It is due by Sunday, December 6th, to complete Capital Letters and Punctuation questions. If they did not complete the Main Idea and Text Features assignment from last week, please do so as soon as possible. Remember you can complete the assignments more than once to get a better score. A blue ribbon is earned if the student obtains 70%. I would love them to keep practicing until they get closer to 80%. There are videos available on Study Island that the student can click on to review.

Also, please have your child complete 1 lesson on All the Right Type (found in the At-Home links on the right side of the screen). The log in and password word is the one that they use to take reading counts quizzes or to log into the school computers (if they aren’t sure which one to use). They must place their fingers on the “home row” keys.

Math homework: We will have 1 easy paper assignment on Thursday (not Tuesday because of the Holiday Program). The assignment is looking at unit of measurement (cup, pint, quart & gallon).

We will not have a reading and fact log sent home this week. Please continue to read and practice your facts at home but enjoy your time with your family! Also, I do have an assignment on Study Island for your child. It is due on Sunday night and shouldn’t take them very long to complete.

If your child has forgotten how to log in, click on login for school (Picture of computer on the right side of screen…yellow):

  • Username is last name, first name (make sure to capitalize first letter of last & first name and add comma with space)
  • Password is GES

Please let me know if you have any concerns. Thank you!

P.E. Cares Results

A special thank you to everyone that donated to the food drive. Our school total was 4592 items of which our class donated 640. I have heard many heartwarming stories about students that gave up their birthday money to purchase food for the needy. I am truly amazed about their giving spirits!

The results are in and our class was the winner of the bowling party. I do not have any information yet on when that will be, but I will let you know when I do. Again, thank you for everything that you have done to support others in the community!

RTI

Did you ever hear your child talk about RTI in math? Please take a moment to watch a video that a group of students made to explain what RTI means in our classroom. We have RTI time for 30 minutes per day. It gives us a chance to review previously learned concepts, practice fact fluency, or receive extra challenges.
