Dear Parents and 3rd Graders,
I want to welcome you to third grade at Georgetown Elementary! You already know how lucky I am to get to have YOU as a student for next year.
My name is Mrs. McDonald. This will be my 9th year at Georgetown and my 17th year in the Hudsonville district. I have three beautiful daughters and 1 son. Two are in college, one is 11th grade and my youngest daughter is in 8th grade.
I can’t wait to hear all about you! Keep reading over the summer because that will be very important! Also, please try to practice your addition & subtraction facts. A school supply list will be posted July 1. I will provide most of the essentials, but a few highly recommended items are listed! Happy shopping!
Please register for email updates on the blog! This will help you to be alerted each time a new post is added.
I am looking forward to getting to know and building relationships with all of you! We will take this journey of learning together! Feel free to leave me a comment that will tell me a little bit about you and your summer plans.
We are opening our school library once a week (Tuesdays) to keep our students reading through the summer. I am hoping to be there on July 8th. Come on in and introduce yourself! I can’t wait to see what books that you are interested in reading.
The library will be open 10:00-12:00 from June 10th – July 22nd. Books need to be turned in on July 29th.
I can’t believe that we are down to the final days in third grade. Thank you for sharing your children with me! I am going to really miss them. Also, thank you for all of the support that you have given us during our learning journey together. Here are a few things to remember:
- If you have any library or classroom books, please return them as soon as possible.
- Thursday: Will be 2nd/3rd grade field day (morning only). Please send your child with tennis shoes, sun screen and a water bottle. If you are interested in running a game, please let me know.
- Friday: We will dismiss at 1:00.
- Report cards will arrive in the mail next week.
We had a wonderful time! A special thank you to all of the parent volunteers that made the day a success.
