Help Mr. Bowen’s Class

Posted on

Mr. Bowen’s 4th grade class will be completing a challenge to READ TO FEED. This is an opportunity for students to impact others in our community by reading books.  They want to raise funds or collect can goods (non perishable food items) for our local non-profit company, Love Inc.  In order to earn cans, the students will be collecting pledges based on the number of points they earn in Reading Counts.

For example, let’s say someone pledged 5 cans every time the student made 10 points.  If that student earned 30 points, they would get 15 cans from the donor.  The idea of this project is, The More We Read, The More We Feed.

Our young people are incredibly powerful individuals who can make a serious difference in the lives of others.  They are willing to take the challenge of feeding our community one can at a time, and would love your help in making this a reality.  Mr. Bowen’s Class would like to know if you will pledge cans toward their project?

The project will run until Friday, May 11th, 2012.  The students will be bagging the donations, charting quantity on a graph, and use mathematical operations such as mode, median, and mean with our data.  Please help us Read to Feed the people of our community.
