On Monday we will be continuing our study of matter by making ice cream! We have been learning about the states of matter and its properties. Making ice cream will provide a fun way to reinforce this information. If you would like to donate any of the items to be used for our ice cream experiment on Monday, March 14th please check your child’s folder for the blue note. I’ll let you know what items are needed tomorrow by returning the note to you. Thank you in advance for your donation!
In honor of National Read Aloud Day, we wore our pajamas and snuggled up with our stuffed animals to hear some great stories. It was the perfect way to celebrate on a rainy day! Here are two of the stories that we read:
Book Review by Analiese: People should read this book because it is funny. The pictures of animals are silly. The book cheers you up if you are upset.
Book Recommendation by Kaleb: I would recommend this book to people who have a bad (blue) day because if you are feeling bad about yourself, you’ll know that other people might feel bad about what people do to them too. The animal pictures made us laugh so we felt happy. The end makes you feel happy.
Connection by Zac: When I had a blue day I didn’t want to play anything. I just wanted to sleep just like when the lion was “just plain pooped.”
Connection by Marley: The Blue Day book For Kids reminds me of when I had a blue day just like when the seal was “lonely” and to make it better my dad tickled me.
Eion J.: “I thought that the book was going to be about the color blue but it was about the blue when you are sad.”
Poem by Leah:
I don’t like blue days
They are not fun.
Boring blue days,
I wish blue days do not exist.
Book Review by Allie: I would recommend this book because it’s a cute, nice book. It tells all kinds of stuff that shows courage. The pictures are funny.
Book Review by Isabella: I think you should read the book Courage because it is a good book. The pictures have lots of detail. They give you lots of ways to show courage.
Sometimes stories make us think of poems.

Stop doing that!
I did it.
is is is
because you do stuff you haven’t done
And then you like it.
and sometimes boring
When you do things you haven’t tried
And they are boring.

Friday is Popcorn Day! In honor of popcorn day, we are going to dress like our favorite gym teacher.
The children had a wonderful time entertaining Mrs. Bohl’s kindergarteners with books, songs, crafts, snacks and a skit. It was a great way to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
